Guitar Video Demos

Sight & Sound

Mike Doolin   Music, is no doubt mostly for the ears, but one would be missing the whole experience if we didn't get out once and a while and actually SEE somebody play. It is in this spirit that this section is born. Our first video is the master builder himself, Mike Doolin. Simply Click on each image to watch and listen to these unfolding audio/video treats. This is one of Mike's interpretations of a Turlough O'Carolan melody from the 18th century entitled "Si Bheg and Si Mhor." There are a number of spellings including "Shebeg - Shemore" but they are all O'Carolan. So ignore the Riverwind title and enjoy the music. Thanks to Seve McWilliam from Liverpool and many others for researching the origin of the tune and subsequently sharing that information with us.

Nancy Conescu   Our next treat is from the talented Nancy Conescu. An accomplished player and singer, she tours the world imparting her critically acclaimed Irish flavor on songs from many genres. "Wild Blossoms", written by the talented and prolific Lisa Aschmann (sorry about the spelling in the photo, Lisa) and Joni Bishop, has been recorded by a number of well known artists including one of my favorites, Sara Watkins of Nickel Creek. This is a beautiful performance of an exquisitely crafted song.

Again click on the image to see and hear the performance. For information on any of the performances, writers, or artists you will see here, drop us a note by going to the Contact Page and filling out and submitting the short form. And do yourselves a favor - get a good sound system for your computer. There's a lot of great stuff a'comin!
